1.31.13 - Life is Good!

Lauren loves being the center of attention and believe 

me she knows how to get there if she doesn't already

have your undivided attention.  She hams it up for the

camera, loves to cuddle, play peek-a-boo, and find

the soft edge of a blanket and be in her mommy's arms!

1.30.13 - It's My Turn...

...says Lucy as she finds her way into story time

and bats like a cat trying to get Jalen to play with her.

1.28.13 - Seriously...

...from the flu, to ear infections, to coughs, to stitches!  We

are starting our very own corner drug store.

So what happened today...Lauren

woke up with a rash looking like she had burning welts

all over and we found out she is allergic to Penicillin.

1.27.13 - Just Take the Picture

Jalen was excited to color his Star Student poster but not so 

excited that his proud momma wanted a picture.

His favorite food is a donut and he thinks he should

bring a donut in for everyone in his class this week...that

would surely make him a star!

1.21.13 - Send Us a Few Pictures?

Or an entire album...a colleague of Derk's told him about a cottage

that had a week open this coming summer.  They only rent 

it through word of mouth so we reserved it without seeing pictures.

Derk asked if she could send us a few pictures.  Next thing we know 

we had a entire album waiting for us in the mailbox.

Fire in the fireplace, cozy on the couch with a blanket

and a warm cup of coffee...bring on the snow storm!

...my mom waited until she was 33 to get a picture with you,
we don't want to wait that long!

...poor Lucy can never get enough.  She's even figured out how

to get Lauren to play with her.

...take a mini orange to school for snack?  

Absolutely!  Gotta love it when your told about

how everyone loves it when they bring a clementine

for snack because it makes the classroom smell so good!

Hopefully he never out grows his love for healthy food.

1.6.13 - Lauren's 1st Birthday Party

We thought for sure she would just dive into her cake but 

she started by nibbling off some sprinkles.  

She looked at us, you could tell she wondered why she had 

everyones attention.  Slowly but surely she got the hang of it with 

help from some loving spectators.  In the end, as the pictures show, 

he had a nice shampoo of frosting.  Happy Birthday!

Chocolate cake that is...Lauren's 1st birthday party is tomorrow.

WOW, even blogger is impressed by my picture blog catch-up

marathon. They added extra security to ensure it was

truly me making all the posts.  The marathon required
sorting through almost 3 months worth of pictures.
It is an understatement to say, I'm happy to be caught up!

1.3.13 - Promote or Not

Frankly I'd rather not but Pokemon

card collection seems to be the "cool"

thing among kindergartners these days.

From what we've learned it seems

to be innocent fun and stretching

his brain a little as he compares the cards

figuring out which one is "better" than

another.  Today Derk took Jalen to get
a binder to hold all of his cards.  It took
Jalen all afternoon organizing his collection.

1.2.13 - Good-bye Highchair

This girl is ready to grow-up.  She would much rather have

a seat at the table.  You don't see any tears here.
